Anholt
The little Danish island Anholt is situated in the Kattegatt just in the middle
between Denmark and Sweden. It is said, that it only by chance remained at
Denmark, when Sweden took a huge part of land in the 17th century, which is
now South Sweden: There just stood a beer mug on the map, which covered the
little island.
Its solitude is unique: The Ferry is sailing over only once a day - during the
main season!  There is only one village with about 130 inhabitants, but a colony
of a few hundred seals. The greatest part is a tundra like area and the entire
island is surrounded by dunes. For more than 25 years I had my summer
holidays there, a place I love with all my heart!
